Welcome!
Here at Light in the Dark you will find a plethora of doll art, sculpture of all kinds, antiques and photography.
I also create art and dolls so you will see my work as well.
I'm really not a big fan of European-style dolls, but these ones look quite awesome. I like how they actually use a lot of cloth for the gowns and all. I love them, though I still prefer Gothic Lolita dolls.
They are amazing. In Japan there are many doll artists that create this style. I have read that they love the ball jointed doll that Europe made in the 1800s and hence their fascination with bjds. I was not a fan of European dolls at first but then I saw the dolls of French artist Francois Gauthier and Thullier and Huret and Emil Jumeau. My background above is a Gauthier and I have to admit that the ball jointed wooden bodies they made were perfectly strung and fitted. as you can tell I am a fan now. I collect all kinds of bjds tho and make them as well. Marina Bychkova is an amazing artist for bjd her sight www.enchanted doll.com is a must see for enthusiasts. :)
